I also want to thank the families of those deployed who don’t have their loved one home for the holidays. I want them all to know that their service and sacrifice is appreciated.” Coffman led a bi-partisan Congressional delegation to Afghanistan to meet with deployed U.S. service members and their leadership. Congressman Coffman met with Gen. John W. Nicholson Jr., who is in charge of Operation Resolution support in Afghanistan and also with the 1st Calvary Division commander, Major General John c. Thomson III. Site visits included the Al-Udeid Air Force Base, Bagram Airfield and the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. Coffman has a combined 21 years of military service and serves on the House Armed Services Committee and House Veteran’s Affairs Committee, where he is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
