Southwest Tennessee Community College is also a member of two different multi-college partnerships that were additionally awarded just over $5.76 million in funding for training programs under today’s announcement. “These funds will help Southwest Tennessee Community College prepare Memphians for jobs in the high-paying, advanced fields that will drive our economy into the future,” said Congressman Cohen. The funding announced today is part of the DOL’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant Program, which awards funding to promote skills development and employment opportunities in fields such as advanced manufacturing, transportation, health care, as well as the so called “STEM” fields: science, technology, engineering, and math.
