This funding comes through the U.S. Department of Justices (DOJ) Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) grant program and is aimed at reducing recidivism, improving court security, addressing substance abuse, and improving other reintegration-related issues. This funding will help fight recidivism, substance abuse, and mental health issues in Shelby County, said Congressman Cohen. The JAG program awards grants to fund a wide of range of programs by state and local justice departments.
