The bombing of the headquarters of the U.S. Pacific Fleet that day forever changed the course of world history. More than 3,500 Americans were killed or wounded on that horrific day of infamy. The further we get from December 7, 1941, the greater our respect grows for the veterans of the Greatest Generation who went to war and defeated the forces of evil. Only 620,000 of the 16 million men and women who served our nation during that war are still alive.
