http://cuellar.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=402893 Rep. Cuellar: Barbed Wire in Laredo Comes Down 2018-12-05 2018 2018-12 Democrat House TX Henry Cuellar C001063 cuellar.house.gov     legacy LAREDO, TEXAS -- Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released the following statement regarding the removal of barbed wire on the border in Laredo, Texas. I just spoke toDirector of the Joint Task Force-WestManny Padilla, who informed me that they will be removing barbed wire in Laredo that was prepared by the troops in recent months as an attempt to impede the oncoming migrant caravan at the border. This is a welcomed change, and I am encouraged to see that a resolution has been agreed upon. Ido understand that if circumstances change in the future, we will need to look for ways in which we can reinforce our border security. I would like to thankManny Padilla, local Border Patrol Chief Felix Chavez, along with CBPDirector David Higgerson, for their continued work on this issue. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
