David Scott. “We should take this time to remember the victims and to rededicate ourselves to providing the resources, education, and support needed to end domestic violence.”   This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA), which empowered the fight against domestic violence. The law provides state and local law enforcement agencies with the resources they need to address violent crimes like domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. Congressman Scott continued voted in favor of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act in 2013 to ensure the continuation of these vital programs.   “The safety and wellbeing of my constituents is of the utmost concern to me,” said Rep. Scott. “The only way we can hope to end these tragedies is through awareness and education.
