The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war. These recordings are entered into the collection in the Library of Congress, where they will serve as a permanent reminder of the sacrifices these men and women made defending our country. On Monday, November 11, 2013, a trained Folklorist from the Library of Congress will teach volunteers interview techniques and help coordinate them with a veteran to conduct future interviews for the project. Anyone who knows a veteran who is interested in telling their story, or simply wants to learn more about the project is invited to attend. For more information about the project, click here.
