In November 2012, Officer Decker was tragically shot in the line of duty. Bring Me The News reports: The bill naming the post office after Decker now only needs President Barack Obama's signature. "Officer Decker gave his life while protecting his community of Cold Spring," Sen. Al Franken said when the bill was introduced over the summer, "and although he continues to be missed dearly by family and friends, this gesture will serve as a lasting reminder of his life, his heroism, and his sacrifice."
