The report included details of the brutal techniques used by interrogators and revealed that the CIA misled Congress, the White House, and the American the public about the program. The Star Tribune reports: In a statement, Franken calls the report "a sobering reminder that torture is immoral, and it's not who we are." But the Minnesota Democrat says not only is torture wrong, it's also ineffective. He says the report shows the CIA's tactics were not effective in producing the kind of accurate intelligence needed for national security.
