Al Franken (D-Minn.) said that he is pleased that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) heeded his call and launched an investigation into the development process of the health reform law's federal website, Healthcare.gov. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today announced that she has asked the Inspector General of her agency to investigate and review the contracting process employed for the development of the federal health care website. "My number one concern is to make sure the Affordable Care Act works for the people of Minnesota," said Sen. Franken. "While I'm pleased that the Administration listened to my request and has agreed to investigate what went wrong with Healthcare.gov's development, I'm still not satisfied and I won't be until it's working for 100 percent of people, 100 percent of the time. "We need to keep moving forward and fix the things that aren't working, because we can't to go back to a time when half the bankruptcies in this country were linked to someone getting sick and someone with a pre-existing condition couldn't get health insurance."
