http://grijalva.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=13&itemid=1741 Rep. Grijalva Leads Call for President to Meet Immigrant Families 2014-09-19 2014 2014-09 Democrat House AZ Raúl Grijalva G000551 grijalva.house.gov     legacy WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) led 42 Representatives in sending a letter to President Obama requesting he meet with families who have been separated from loved ones as a result of our deportation policies. The effort was co-led by Representatives John Lewis (D-GA), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Judy Chu (D-CA). Congressman Grijalva released the following statement: “As families struggle with the delay in executive action on immigration reform, many in immigrant communities are worried that relief will never come,” said Rep. Grijalva. “The simple act of meeting with families, hearing of the hardships they’ve endured, and reassuring them that executive action is coming will go a long way to providing the solace and hope they deserve. We are asking the president to make this gesture in good faith – not for politics but for the people who desperately need his help, and are waiting every day to hear the news that administrative relief has come.” The full text of the letter can be found here. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
