Grijalva (D-AZ) released the following statement today after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced more than $15 million in funding for environmental improvements on tribal lands in Arizona. Grant recipients include the Havasupai Tribe, the Tohono Oodham Nation and the Gila River Indian Community. Respect for the planet is part and parcel to daily life for native tribes, and Im glad that EPA recognizes their tremendous contributions to conservation in Arizona, Rep. Grijalva said. The funds announced today will support water quality projects, watershed protection and restoration, water energy efficiency, wastewater reclamation and vital drinking water infrastructure. At the same time, the funds provide critical economic support, allowing tribes to build the capacity to carry out environmental work. Im thrilled to see such a worthwhile investment and look forward to partnering with EPA and native tribes in the future to protect Arizonas lands and waterways. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
