Grijalva (D-AZ) released the following statement today congratulating the Tohono O’odham Nation on being rewarded nearly $1.5 million in grant funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The funds, which were part of $13 million announced by EPA for Arizona tribes, will pay for the connection of two existing community drinking water systems and upgrade arsenic treatment. The project will provide treated water to 73 tribal homes on the Tohono O’odham Nation Reservation. “I’m thrilled to see my friends at the Tohono O’odham Nation receiving this tremendous grant award from EPA,” Rep. Grijalva said. “These funds will help provide vital clean water to 73 homes, and help continue the great strides already being made on the Nation’s land.
