The House has approved three bills: the EPA Science Advisory Board Reform Act, H.R. 1422, to establish board member qualifications; the Secret Science Reform Act, H.R. 4012, to prohibit the EPA from finalizing a regulation unless the public has access to the data used; and the Promoting New Manufacturing Act, H.R. 4795, which would bring much needed transparency to the EPA permitting process. “These bills will aid American job creators by allowing businesses to grow without fear of overregulation from environmental extremists,” Hartzler said. “The EPA continues to burden small businesses with red tape. I am pleased to work towards stopping these unnecessary and unjustified regulations, which hamper job creation and wage growth.” “The Environmental Protection Agency needs accountability, and these common sense bills will work toward that end,” Hartzler added. “And, by making all scientific and technical information used by the EPA available to the public before action is taken by the agency, transparency in EPA dealings is ensured. The information the agency uses to make some of its burdensome rules should not be kept from the public. Americans have the right to know this information, and Congress has a responsibility to make sure all agencies operate in a way that serves the best interests of all Americans.” Having passed the House, the three bills now move to the Senate for its consideration. Congresswoman Hartzler serves on the House Agriculture, Armed Services, and Budget Committees. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
