The event kicks off at 8 AM with a veterans breakfast followed by an assembly to honor the men and women who have served in our nations armed forces. The ceremony will include a special tribute to Staff Sergeant Andrew Seif, a graduate of West Ottawa High School, who tragically lost his life earlier this year in a training accident. In 2013, Sgt. Seif was named Marine of the Year by the USO and was awarded the Silver Star, prior to his death, for his service in Afghanistan as a member of the Marine Special Operations Command. Gunnery Sergeant David Pizana, who served with Sgt. Seif, will be the featured speaker at this years ceremony.
