Like the version that the House passed last month, this bicameral legislation puts the needs of our communities and our country's long-term competitiveness first. Without a strong and sustainable infrastructure of roads, bridges and highways, we will continue to lose ground as our population continues to grow and businesses look for cost-effective and reliable modes of transport. Illinois is a key beneficiary of this long-term bill which will allow our local communities to plan years down the road for much-needed projects, said Rep. Hultgren.
