The award presentation took place at the Councils annual Healthcare Innovations Expo on Capitol Hill. The day-long event is dedicated to showcasing new developments in health care technologies, treatments and practices. This years event featured, among other exhibits, new technologies for blood glucose monitoring, innovative treatment options for mental illness, and telehealth systems that make physicians accessible to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As we strive to conquer illness, elevate population health and make our healthcare system more affordable and sustainable, the answer lies in dynamic and continual innovation, said Healthcare Leadership Council President Mary R. Grealy. For this to happen, we need federal policies that encourage progress and new breakthroughs in care.
