In addition, the grant will enable the University of Houston to fund professional development activities intended to improve research for students studying at the National Eye Institute and to assist them in meeting high professional standards.   “I commend the University of Houston for the work it does to provide quality educational opportunities to its students and congratulate it for winning such a prestigious grant. I am proud to have supported the authorizing and appropriations legislation that made this grant possible.”   ### Congresswoman Jackson Lee is a Democrat from Texas’s 18th Congressional District.
