Jones (NC-3) spoke out in defense of Eastern North Carolina’s Tricare Service Centers (TSCs) after the Obama administration announced in November that all domestic walk-in TSCs will be closed as a cost-saving measure. In a letter to Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs Jonathan Woodson, Congressman Jones explained that the TSCs at both Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point have seen above average usage rates in the last two years and therefore should not be closed along with the low usage rate centers. The Obama administration intends to close the TSCs in the spring of 2014. “The TSCs at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point provide a variety of critical services for our military personnel, from assistance with medical claims to troubleshooting enrollment issues,” said Congressman Jones. “These valuable resources must remain available to the many service members, veterans, and families who call Eastern North Carolina home.” The text of Congressman Jones' letter is available at the link below. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
