Additionally, she helped secure more than $10 million in federal grants for local projects. “When I was elected to Congress, I was determined to provide the best constituent services possible,” said Congresswoman Brownley. “As I prepare to begin my second term in office, I will continue to strive to be Ventura County’s voice in Washington.” Below are highlights of Congresswoman Brownley’s constituent-centered approach to strengthening Ventura County’s economy and fighting for middle-class families. Received and responded to over 119,000 inquiries from constituents. Of those 119,000-plus inquiries, over 2,100 required Brownley to open cases and cut through bureaucratic red tape while advocating for constituents. Recovered nearly $2 million in retroactive VA benefits, plus more than $1.8 in estimated monthly VA benefits. Recovered over $300,000 in overdue Social Security benefits to Ventura County residents.
