I was in the region earlier this year, and I saw the human tragedy that has occurred, said Congressman Kinzinger. I stood in the U.N. refugee camp and had a little girl come up to me and explain through a translator how her parents were killed by ISIS and how she ran away fleeing for security. I realized the important role that the United States of America and its global partners need to play to help those fleeing from the murder and brutality committed by ISIS and the Assad regime. Our Turkish, Jordanian, and Lebanese allies continue to step up in assisting Syrian refugees by providing them with educational and health care opportunities and I want to commend them for their commitment to helping mitigate the ongoing crisis in Syria.
