WREN will use the funding to purchase a building that will house office space, an entrepreneurial training center, and “maker space.” “The Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network is doing excellent work helping North Country women business owners expand their businesses,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “This grant will help WREN continue to support Granite Staters who are driving their local economies forward. I congratulate WREN on this grant award and thank them for all of their work on behalf New Hampshire women.” In April, Congresswoman Kuster held a Women’s Business Leadership roundtable discussion at WREN about the issues facing women professionals across the Granite State. She met with a diverse group of female business leaders who discussed the Congresswoman’s recently released Women’s Economic Agenda. Participants shared their own personal experiences with some of the issues outlined in Kuster’s Agenda, including pay equity, family leave time, and access to capital. In addition to this grant award to WREN, the Northern Border Regional Commission also awarded the following grants: A $250,000 grant to the Town of Littleton for the construction of a multi-use bridge as part of Littleton's Downtown project. A $250,000 grant to the Coos Economic Development Council for a cell tower on Cummings Mountain. A $200,000 grant to the Northern Community Investment Corporation for the improvement of the NH Grand website project. A $106,695 grant to the University of New Hampshire, to expand the broadband mapping program in Coos County.
