The Surry Fire Department will use the funding to provide training and obtain equipment. Our dedicated first responders put themselves at risk each and every day to protect New Hampshire families and communities, said Kuster. It is our responsibility to ensure fire departments and emergency personnel across the Granite State have the resources and support they need to perform their duties safely and effectively. Congratulations to Surry on receiving this grant award and thank you to the many brave men and women who make it their lifes work to keep us safe. The AFG program helps fire departments and emergency medical service organizations obtain protective equipment, emergency vehicles, staff training, and other resources that are essential to preserving public safety and protecting communities from fire and related threats. Over the last 15 years, the AFG has granted more than $6 billion to first-responder organizations to help meet these goals.
