Rivier will use the funding to expand nursing workforce diversity in the Nashua area by focusing on underrepresented students. The grant will support scholarships, stipends, educational enrichment programs, and cultural training activities. “I applaud Rivier University for its sustained commitment to diversity and to providing an excellent education to all of its students,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “The nursing program at Rivier will benefit from the inclusion of students from various backgrounds who will provide a variety of perspectives and academic strengths. I congratulate Rivier on this grant award and look forward to continuing to work with the university to increase diversity and serve the greater Nashua community.” The HRSA Nursing Workforce Diversity Grant awarded to Rivier’s Nursing Department is one of only 15 awarded across the country. The grant program is devoted to increasing nursing education opportunities for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities that are underrepresented among registered nurses. “Receiving this grant is truly an honor and a privilege. We now look forward to welcoming and supporting many more students from diverse backgrounds into our programs,” said Paula Williams, Dean of Nursing at Rivier. “The scholarships, stipends, and academic enrichment opportunities, which the grant will allow, open so many paths for students who otherwise might not have found their way to Rivier University and to the nursing workforce in the Nashua region and beyond.” Rivier University offers a range of nursing programs, including an associate and a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing with several track options, three post-master’s certificates, a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Learning with a Nursing Education Specialization, and a new Bachelor of Science in Public Health. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
