Littleton will use the funding to build a downtown bridge for pedestrians, bicycles, and other off-road vehicles. “The redevelopment of Littleton’s River District will continue to boost the city’s economy and culture,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “This grant will allow Littleton to build a bridge that will drive the redevelopment project forward and benefit Littleton’s Main Street businesses. I congratulate Littleton on this grant award and look forward to seeing this exciting project make progress.” Last winter, Kuster toured the redevelopment project and met with local planners and business leaders to discuss its impacts on the Littleton economy. In addition to this grant award to Littleton, the Northern Border Regional Commission also awarded the following grants: A $161,670 grant award to the Women's Rural Entrepreneurial Network in Berlin for the purchase of a storefront building to serve as office space, entrepreneurial training center and "maker space." A $250,000 grant to the Coos Economic Development Council for a cell tower on Cummings Mountain. A $200,000 grant to the Northern Community Investment Corporation for the improvement of the NH Grand website project. A $106,695 grant to the University of New Hampshire, to expand the broadband mapping program in Coos County.
