Kuster has held a series of job fairs across the state to help connect local job seekers with employment opportunities. Across the Granite State, far too many families are still struggling to get by, and underemployment remains an issue, said Congresswoman Annie Kuster. We need to make sure our workers can access the skill-training they need to secure 21st century jobs, which is why my jobs fair this week not only featured employers, but also workforce development programs that can help open the doors to new employment opportunities for workers of all education levels, ages, and skill sets. I was so proud to see job seekers connecting with employers and educators at this weeks fair, and I thank all the participants for helping to make it a great success. Kuster has hosted a series of jobs fairs all across the district to help connect job seekers with new employment options. The Nashua jobs fair was one of the largest fairs Kuster has ever hosted, spanning two days and featuring employers from a variety of industries, including health care, retail, manufacturing, social services, and hospitality. Kuster is committed not only to helping unemployed Granite Staters find work, but also to helping connect underemployed constituents with the training programs they need to successfully transition to jobs that are most well-suited for them. As a result, this fair included representatives from education, training, and workforce development organizations, including WorkReadyNH, the Community College System of New Hampshire, the Job Corps Center, Phlebotomy and Safety Training Center, and others. The jobs fair was free and open to the public, and all job seekers in the region were welcomed to attend. Since taking office, Kuster has prioritized efforts to foster job creation, grow the economy, and ensure job seekers have the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century economy. The first bill she introduced in Congress would create tax credits for companies that partner with community colleges to provide workers with skill-training specific to their industries, and shes visited a wide variety of businesses through her Congress-At-Your-Company series to hear directly from New Hampshire owners and workers about how Congress can support job creation efforts in the state.
