Throughout the event, Kuster heard from Silverthorne clients and staff about the importance of preserving Social Security and Medicare as well as other issues facing senior citizens across New Hampshire. “Since I first took office, I have pledged to always fight for our Granite State seniors and to protect Social Security and Medicare,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “I hosted this forum to hear directly from local seniors about what more Congress can do to support adult day centers like Silverthorne, and to strengthen crucial programs that so many seniors rely on. It was wonderful to learn more about the care and services offered at Silverthorne, which encourage social engagement and community activities while allowing participants to continue living at home.” This is the second senior forum Congresswoman Kuster has held this year to hear directly from New Hampshire seniors. In August, she hosted a senior forum at the Peterborough Public Library to hear from Monadnock-area seniors about Social Security, Medicare, and other issues facing seniors. Congresswoman Annie Kuster is a strong supporter of Social Security and Medicare, and she has stood up to members of both parties to fight to protect these programs.
