During the event, Kuster spoke about her support for women’s equality and Social Security, and thanked the organization for their commitment to these ideas. “Since I first took office, I have been committed to fighting to preserve Social Security and Medicare for Granite State seniors, as well as equal rights and equal pay for women,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “The Eleanor’s Hope initiative could not come at a more critical time, as women continue to face huge economic challenges as workers and retirees. I applaud their efforts and look forward to our continued partnership to increase economic opportunity and retirement security for women in New Hampshire and across the country.” Congresswoman Kuster has held a series of Senior Forums this year, including recent events in Salem and Peterborough, to hear directly from New Hampshire seniors about Social Security, Medicare, and other issues facing their community. She is a strong supporter of Social Security and Medicare, and has stood up to both Republicans and Democrats to fight to protect these programs. Kuster recently helped introduce a new bill to provide more support for caregivers who are helping take care of their elderly relatives or other individuals who need care. Eleanor’s Hope is a project dedicated to mobilizing women to advocate for income equality, income security, and health protection equal to their male counterparts.
