Mountainside resident Eve Vitale introduced Lance to the group.  “Congressman Lance is a friend of senior citizens.  He votes on the issues important to us – keeping Medicare and Social Security strong, protecting families who want to stay in their homes and keeping our homeland secure so our grandchildren are safe at school and at work.”  “Senior citizens across this country and in New Jersey have earned and were promised benefits in their retirement.  I will always vote to ensure Congress keeps up its end of the bargain when it comes to caring for our retirees, veterans and those on a fixed income.  Too many senior citizens are rightfully concerned over the future of their health care.  Administration plans to change Medicare Advantage and raid Medicare to fund ObamaCare is not a pro-seniors’ agenda and I have fought those proposals in Congress.  I support empowering senior citizens through stability and peace of mind,” said Lance after the presentation. Jim Martin, the founder and chairman of 60 Plus which selected Lance for the award, issued a statement praising Lance.  “Dedicated lawmakers like Congressman Lance show compassion toward seniors and the issues they face.  We thank him for always protecting Medicare and Social Security since seniors have paid into both all our working lives.  We want our lawmakers to vote against wasteful spending of our tax dollars.  Excessive spending now has our government borrowing over 40 cents of every dollar it needs to pay our debts.  Seniors have to balance their budgets and so should our government.  We thank Congressman Lance for his record, he has earned our respect and our appreciation.” While in Congress, Lance has worked toward successfully halting Medicare Part D changes and working on making prescription drugs more affordable.  Lance has also voted for the repeal of the federal estate tax, preserving Social Security for those in the program and championing American-made energy that will lower costs and voting for lower taxes – issues especially important to senior citizens on fixed incomes.  Lance was also previously honored by the Association of Mature American Citizens for his record on senior citizen issues. “I am proud to be a pro-senior lawmaker,” Lance concluded. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
