http://lance.house.gov/newsroom/press-releases/lance-statement-on-release-of-tpp-text Lance Statement on Release of TPP Text 2015-11-05 2015 2015-11 Republican House NJ Leonard Lance L000567 lance.house.gov     legacy WASHINGTON, DC Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07), Vice Chair of the Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade Subcommittee, released the following statement in reaction to the Obama Administration releasing the full text of the recently completed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement: For months I have urged President Obama to make his trade agenda more transparent and release the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) documents to the public for viewing because I have long believed that increased transparency gives the public, the experts and the press an opportunity to review the deal and allows for an honest public debate on the merits of TPP and the importance of free trade. And thanks to trade promotion authority legislation passed by the U.S. House earlier this year, the American public will now have the ability to review the details of the agreement that was released earlier today. I continue to reserve judgment on enactment of TPP and look forward to discuss final ratification in Congress with my constituents. The TPP text can be found at:https://ustr.gov/trade-agreements/free-trade-agreements/trans-pacific-partnership/TPP-Full-Text The U.S. House of Representatives voted 126 to 302 against legislation necessary to complete negotiations on the Presidents Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade initiative. Lance joined the majority in the House in voting against the legislation, saying, Like many of my constituents, I support free trade and increasing good-paying jobs and economic growth in New Jersey. I voted against reauthorizing Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) as part of the debate on the Presidents TPP trade negotiations because my constituents also want trade agreements that are transparent and good for American workers and American taxpayers. My vote sends a very clear message to President Obama that we can do better in these areas. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
