Additionally, the letter addresses the recent EPA actions and reports indicating the agency’s intent to reduce advanced biofuel volumes and allow credits for ethanol exported overseas. Loebsack serves as a Co-Chair of the Biofuels Caucus.“Never in its history has the EPA reduced the amount of advanced biofuels required to be used in the U.S. under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Now is not the time to sit on our laurels. The EPA must expand the RFS and the use of biofuels, not slash it. Folks in Iowa know that the RFS works. It cuts down on our dependence of foreign oil, creates jobs here at home, is better for our environment, and lowers the price of gasoline at the pump.
