Congressman Billy Long (MO-07) supported the Houses passage of H.R. 644, the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act Conference Report. This legislation streamlines trade facilitation procedures, modernizes Custom and Border Protections (CBP) automated systems, and fights currency manipulation. Additionally, this bill includes language from Rep. Longs Enforcing Orders and Reducing Customs Evasion (ENFORCE) Act, which he has championed since first coming to Washington. This bill protects U.S. manufacturers from negative impacts from rampant evasion of antidumping and tariffs by improving CBP mechanisms that ensure the proper duties are applied to products subject to corporate evasion techniques. This bill is critical to making sure products coming into our borders abide by our tariff laws,said Rep. Long. Duty evasion has a very real impact that harms American workers, including hundreds right here in Missouris 7th Congressional District.
