Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement in support of this critical legislation: A few months ago, I voted in support of the House-passed farm bill to ensure stability for our Missouri farmers because I understand how hard they work day in and day out to put food on our tables and in our grocery stores. After months of bipartisan negotiations between the House and Senate the Farm Bill is finally headed to the President's desk, said Congressman Luetkemeyer. This package will provide the certainty Missouri farmers deserve while investing in the future of our rural communities. I'm proud to support this legislation. Farmers and rural communities across Missouri's third district will benefit from the provisions included in this legislation. The 2018 Farm Bill Conference Report: Protects Crop Insurance and Livestock Disaster Programs while making several key improvements. Strengthens promotion of U.S. agricultural exports through the Market Access Program (MAP) and other trade initiatives. Includes forward-looking standards making significant improvements to rural broadband delivery. Helps rural communities combat the opioid crisis. Funds key animal disease prevention and management initiatives, including the stockpiling of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccine.
