I have had the honor and privilege to work with law enforcement throughout my entire career and I have the utmost respect for them. I ask myself what more can be done to quell this senseless violence and preserve life. Inevitably I pray togetherness among us will ensue before we must endure more division and needless loss of life. These two officers died tragically in the line of duty while serving their communities. They were assassinated only because they wore a uniform and badge. Their death was retaliation for incidents which they had no part in. It is deeply troubling to me to understand officers everywhere go to work each day knowing the danger to them has never been greater. I call on every religious leader, every political leader, every public servant and every citizen to come together and speak out about this kind of behavior and sickening violence.
