The ceremony celebrated the origin of Wind Cave National Park bison, and restoring bison to the western landscape. Washington representatives joined the InterTribal Buffalo Council and the National Buffalo Association to commemorate the dedication. U.S. Representative Kristi Noem shared her stories of raising buffalo as a young child, while Jim Stone of the InterTribal Buffalo Council shared the buffalo's connection to the Native American culture.
