Douglas County School District. “While many school districts, especially in Minnesota, continue to far exceed the federal requirements of the law, I am proud to stand up for individuals with disabilities across the country to prevent anyone with a disability from being denied an equal and quality education,” Nolan said. “We must enable ALL Americans to live up to their full potential.”The amicus brief shows it to be the intent of the original Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and subsequent reauthorizations that students with disabilities deserve the same meaningful, quality education provided to the rest of the student body – not just the bare minimum.Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District is currently being deliberated before the United States Supreme Court. Endrew, a fifth grade student with autism, and his family brought the case forward after Endrew allegedly received inadequate special education services at his public school, where he was struggling, and had to be placed in a private school, where he quickly thrived.
