The announcement culminates years of advocacy by Congressman Donald Norcross, Mayor Dana Redd, and countless others. Prior to his recent election to the Congress, Donald Norcross fought tirelessly for the repairs as Chairman of the Schools Construction Subcommittee in the New Jersey Senate. The project commits at least $50 million in SDA resources to address Camden High School’s structural deficiencies, while also moving forward with a plan to create a campus environment on site that will house four additional autonomous small schools. Architectural work on the project is expected to start this Spring. “Making sure that our students have a school that is safe and modern is the first step to ensuring their academic success,” said Congressman Norcross. “This $50 million investment will not only address the much-needed structural needs at Camden City High School, but it also demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the City of Camden and its residents by providing top rate classrooms where opportunities for success are achieved.
