Pallone was greeted by honor students, after which he read from Kennedy’s inaugural address in the school’s cafeteria. Pallone talked to seventh and eighth grade students about the 50th anniversary of JFK's death and discussed his own memory of the assassination as a seventh grader at the time. Pallone also shared his experiences of having attended Kennedy’s funeral in Washington, D.C. in 1963. “President Kennedy was an incredible inspiration for so many Americans and his death was a tragedy that changed the nation, which is still felt today,” said Pallone. “His message of service inspired me to give back to my country and it is a message that should be passed to new generations of Americans. I will never forget my experience attending President Kennedy’s funeral.
