The IPG today will focus on the U.S. economic standpoint with Mexico as well as trade relations, border security enhancements, immigration, and other issues pertaining to the relationship between the US and Mexico. “It’s great to be here with my colleagues leading discussions to preserve and strengthen the strong bilateral relationship our nation has with Mexico. Representing roughly 180 miles of the border with Mexico, I understand the importance of our partnership with Mexico, especially as it affects the local economy and safety of communities here in New Mexico. I look forward to meeting with my Mexican counterparts today to look for actions that can be taken to strengthen economic opportunity for New Mexico.” Speaker Paul Ryan appointed Rep. Pearce to serve on the U.S.-Mexico Inter-Parliamentary Group in the 115th Congress.
