On the Omnibus bill to keep government open, while I commend our Ranking Member Nita Lowey and the Democratic appropriators for their strong, principled leadership for Americas hard-working families during these tough negotiations, a number of concerns have arisen. House Democrats are now reviewing the Omnibus bill language. Republicans tax extender bill provides hundreds of billions of dollars in special interest tax breaks that are permanent and unpaid for. These massive giveaways to the special interests and big corporations are deeply destructive to our future. We have a responsibility to pass legislation that grows the paychecks of hard-working families and invests in the future of our children.
