"The TPP would undermine basic safety standards for imported food, medicines and even toys," Pingree said. "And it would be a lousy deal for American manufacturers, putting them in direct competition with countries where workers are paid 65 cents an hour." The trade agreement has been negotiated in secret, and Pingree and her colleagues protested and asked President Obama to release the full text. That text was released this morning.
