Not only is this one of the worst wildfire seasons Washington has seen in many, many years, but we have seen individuals and families lose absolutely everything.  The state is doing what it can to help provide assistance but they can’t do it alone.  I am working with my colleagues, FEMA, and the Governor’s office to get the federal help we need to ensure people can access basic necessities and provide for themselves and their families as they rebuild their lives. I urge the federal government to address these needs and seriously consider the Governor’s appeal.”   Wildfires in Washington State have destroyed more than 300 homes across four different counties and have seriously affected local economies, particularly as this comes in the middle of the busiest tourism season for Central Washington, in addition to the destruction of private property. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
