My bills and provisions to relieve unnecessary tax compliance burden, to prevent targeting by the IRS, and to fight fraud for hard-working individuals passed in the House and the Senate, and will be signed into law by the President. I came to Washington as a businessman, and I will continue my efforts to protect hard-working American taxpayers and to grow our economy. Washington Wrap-Up The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act The House passed the PATH Act, also known as the tax extenders package, to provide permanent tax relief for hard-working Americans. By making several tax policies permanent, such as the R&D credit and small business expensing, it will provide certainty and predictability to businesses and individuals. And most importantly, it will help open the door to economic growth. This legislation also included several of my bills and other legislative provisions: Information Reporting Simplification Act of 2015 (H.R. 3856), which I introduced with his colleagues from the Bipartisan Working Group, which will remove unnecessary tax compliance burdens. Prevent Targeting at IRS Act (H.R. 709), which will prevent political targeting by the IRS. and core components from Stolen Identity Refund Fraud Prevention Act of 2015 (H.R. 3832) to fight fraud for our hard-working American taxpayers. The Spending Bill Today, Congress passed a spending bill to fund our government and to ensure our national security. Despite Washingtons broken process, I casted my vote in favor of national security, and to restore our military funding so that our troops can confront todays challenges and defeat ISIS. In addition, this legislation provides funding for Cleveland to secure our city during the Convention next year. American and Ohioan safety comes first. Moving forward, I will continue my efforts to restore regular order in Congress by passing all 12 appropriations bill before the end of each fiscal year providing certainty and stability for the American people These two major pieces of legislation concluded our legislative business for the year, and kept the government open and funded for Americans. Congress has now adjourned for 2015 and Members are traveling back to their home districts to meet with their constituents and bring back fresh concerns and ideas to Washington next year.
