| http://richmond.house.gov/press-release/rep-richmond-responds-presidents-fiscal-year-2015-budget | Rep. Richmond Responds to the President's Fiscal Year 2015 Budget | 2014-03-04 | 2014 | 2014-03 | Democrat | House | LA | Cedric Richmond | R000588 | richmond.house.gov | legacy | Washington, D.C. - Congressman Cedric Richmond (LA-02) released the following statement in response to the President’s Fiscal Year 2015 Budget: “The President laid out a responsible budget blueprint this morning that creates jobs, expands economic growth and provides opportunity for all Americans. $300 billion in infrastructure investment, tax cuts for hard working families, an improved permitting process for our oil and gas projects, 45 manufacturing innovation institutes and investments in skills training will boost our economy in the near term. Louisiana, and more specifically our River Parishes, which are experiencing explosive growth in private investments, stand to gain from provisions like this. Investments in our children via early childhood education and closer coordination between schools and employers will yield economic growth for our young people in the decades to come. That is why I also plan into introduce legislation that will expand Pell Grants usage so that young people seeking skills training can access the high tech skills they need to compete. I am also fully supportive of President Obama’s call for more resources to fight the scourge of gun violence in our communities.” | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
