H.R. 3626, the Extend Undetectable Firearms Act, extends for 10 years the ban on the manufacture, importation, sale, shipment, delivery, possession, transfer or receipt of firearms that are undetectable by metal detectors at security checkpoints. The bill passed with bipartisan support. “When the public enters into buildings that are secured with metal detectors they rightfully expect to be protected from guns being introduced into that environment. This law makes it harder for would-be criminals to secretly bring guns into these buildings,” Rep. Kelly said. “I am pleased that my colleagues were able to come together in a bipartisan manner to pass this important piece of legislation. It is my hope that we can also come together in the future around other common sense gun laws to help keep our communities safer from the threat of gun violence.” In addition to voting on H.R. 3626, Congresswoman Kelly has introduced three common sense gun bills this Congress: · H.R. 2464, The Improving Gun Safety Standards Act, amends the Consumer Product Safety Act to include pistols, revolvers, and other firearms in the definition of “consumer product” in order to permit the issuance of safety standards for guns by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. · H.R. 2465, The Recognizing Gun Violence as a Public Health Emergency Act, would require the U.S. Surgeon General to submit to Congress an annual report on the effects of gun violence on public health. · H.R. 2648, The Keeping Guns From High-Risk Individuals Act prohibits the sale or transfer of guns to “high risk” individuals, including those who have been convicted of violent crimes, crimes involving drugs or alcohol or domestic violence. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
