U.S. Representative Todd Rokita (IN-04), Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement after Rep. Paul Ryan was officially elected as Speaker of the House of U.S. Representatives: I worked closely with Speaker Ryan when he chaired the Budget Committee to craft commonsense, conservative reforms that tackle the drivers of our debt and address our auto-pilot spending programs. I have continued to work with him on tax, regulatory, and healthcare reform. I think it is imperative that we have a Speaker who understands that our internal and legislative processes need to change. The way we conduct business in the House needs to be reformed so that Representatives can do what we were elected to do.
