Our veterans deserve access to quality care and the ability to live a full life after their service to our nation.” Miami, Florida – Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen announced her support of two bills that work to help improve our veterans’ quality of life: the Department of Veterans Affairs Major Medical Facility Lease Authorization Act of 2013 would allow leases of medical facilities in more locations throughout the United States so veterans can have expanded access to care; and the VA Expiring Authorities Extension Act of 2013 which would give monthly assistance to veterans training for the Paralympic Team. These bills aim to ensure our veterans, who deserve our respect for their sacrifices, are able to live their lives to the fullest and have access to medical facilities. Ros-Lehtinen’s husband, Dexter, is a Vietnam combat veteran who volunteered to serve, and her step-son, Doug, and daughter-in-law, Lindsay, served our country as officers in the US Marine Corps in Iraq. Lindsay also served in Afghanistan.
