That is why I thank Mayor Garcetti for ordering the release of Mr. Ford's autopsy results. This is an important step in making the fullest possible accounting of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Ford's death. I also urge any and all witnesses to his death to come forward without delay, so that we have a clear and accurate picture of this event. I will continue to monitor the ongoing investigations into this tragedy. "My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Ford's family, as they are with the family of Omar Abrego, who also died after an encounter with police in my District in August. I fully support the mission of our nation's law enforcement personnel to protect and serve the American people. At the same time, their work must always be done in a manner that respects the law and the rights of the people they protect.
