Beginning with Tinian Jr. Sr. High School and Dr. Rita H. Inos Jr. Sr. High School in Rota, the workshops include an overview of federal and local financial aid resources for college, offer student tips on using the U.S. Department of Educations College ScoreCard to help schools, highlight in-demand jobs and options for vocational training, and discuss opportunities for military service and congressional nomination to the U.S. service academies. Students are also encouraged to look at volunteer service through organizations such as AmeriCorps or the Peace Corps as a way to gain valuable experience and educational benefits while giving back to their communities and nation. As I explained to the students in a video message from Washington, DC, I believe any problem our community faces will be more easily solved, if we are all well-educated.
