The Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness Grant will fund the development, implementation, and improvement of emergency plans and training of the Commonwealth's emergency responders to be prepared for an incident involving the transportation of hazardous materials. The amount of the grant is based on a formula that accounts for demographics, local emergency response capabilities, and the degree of hazard of commodities regularly transported through the Northern Mariana Islands.
